Birdtober 2024 (01-04)

Some pages I did in my sketchbook, following prompts from Birdtober 2024.

Just needed a palette cleanser to play around with in between comic work. I'm trying this thing where I start off with an alcohol marker base and use colored pencils for the finer details. My marker collection has a wider range of colors compared to my pencils, so it's been interesting to see what combinations were working for me here. Pretty happy with how vibrant the colors are, even though they're far from accurate to the references I used.

Materials: 5.75" x 8.25" toned sketchbook (approx 160gsm), alcohol markers, colored pencils, occasional application of fineliners and acrylic markers
